Advance Registration Open to Oct 28th: Community Summit: Creating Inclusive & Welcoming Youth Spaces

Friday, Oct 30th, 2015 - 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm

According to KWIC's research, 1 in 4 local youth don't feel welcome or safe in youth spaces.

On October 30, 2015 we are inviting community members, partners, and allies to join us in the launch of our research around creating inclusive and welcoming youth spaces so that we may all work towards a solution.

Don't miss out on an action-packed afternoon:

  • Networking lunch from 11:30am- 12:30pm
  • Launch of local youth-led research
  • Youth speakers & representatives
  • Breakout strategizing & discussion sessions
  • Presentation: Funding Opportunities with Laidlaw Foundation

Date & Time: October 30th, 2015 from 12:30pm-4pm (with an optional networking lunch from 11:30am-12:30pm)

WherePeterborough Public Library Auditorium, (345 Aylmer St. North Peterborough, ON)

Suggested Ticket Price: $15-25
Please note: All youth representatives & participants are asked to register, but independent youth (not affiliated with an organization) are not required to purchase a ticket.

Who Should Come: Youth and community leaders and educators with a desire to create stronger, diverse youth engagement. We will use Seeds for Justices' most recent research to begin a conversation and build from our collective knowledge and experiences of best practices for inclusive youth engagement. From there we will hear from youth speakers, and breakout into strategizing and discussion groups. The summit will also be an excellent networking opportunity!
