KWIC Assistant & SEEDS Youth Engagement Animator:
Riahl is in the fourth and final year of his degree at Trent University studying Gender and Globalizaiton. He is passionate about using popular education to explore issues of privilege and oppression, taking a creative approach to making safe space and allowing people to learn from one another. He is currently Youth Animator for KWIC's Seeds for Justice program, which organizes popular education workshops for high school aged kids to explore environmental and social justice. Resource Centre Coordinator:
Marissa Kidd recently returned from Trent's study abroad program in Ghana. She is interested expressive arts and the way in which art can be used as a medium to promote learning and understanding between people. Marissa is also an active member of KWIC working group Sustainable Trent, and has a passion for environmental justice. Marissa will be serving as KWIC's Resource Centre Coordinator this year, and can be reached at marissakidd@gmail.com.
Nogojiwanong Watershed Ed. (Blue Water) Facilitator:
Glen Caradus is an experienced outdoor educator, musician and puppeteer, who on any given day might be found at Ecology Park, Ptbo Green Up (Captain Climate), Camp Kawartha, the Canoe Museum or the new Camp Kawartha Sustainability Centre (to name a few of his favourite spots)! Nogojiwanong is the first collaboration between KWIC and the Paddling Puppeteers! KWIC Coordinator: Julie Cosgrove joined KWIC in 2003 as an exciting opportunity to connect a decade + of social justice work, experiences living/working in the West Indies, North Africa and the Canadian Arctic, with her new life (as a new mom!) in Peterborough. What she has enjoyed most is getting connected with and learning from all the amazing people that gather through KWIC, bringing their passion and ideas. (oh - and good food!)
Julie completed her Honours B.A. at Waterloo University (Co-op Program), B. ED. at York and a Community-based International Development Program, specializing in Participatory Approaches at the COADY International Institute (St. Xavier University) in Nova Scotia.
