How can I get involved?
At the Kawartha World Issues Centre, you can decide how you want to be involved:
Drop by the Resource Centre. KWIC has a free active lending library of books, current local and international subscriptions, teacher curriculum kits and videos. The Centre is a perfect spot for quiet study at one of our big wooden tables, or to curl-up on the couch and read from any one of our current magazine subscriptions.
Volunteer! KWIC’s work in the community depends on the skills and enthusiasm of a dedicated group of volunteers. You can choose to give your time, energy and ideas to a specific project, such as International Development Week or Global Youth Day. You can assist in the resource centre, lead or develop workshops for local schools and community groups, help with administrative work and the KWIC newsletter, join a working group or the KWIC Board of Directors or come out special events.
Become a member receive our bi-annual newsletter, vote and run for the Board of Directors ~ and help support KWIC events and programs in our community!
