When someone experiences sexual violence, it is never their fault. No matter what the victim was wearing, what they said, and what actions they took, no one deserves to experience sexual violence or harassment. Survivors deserve compassion, support, and time to heal. Reaching out for help and navigating, what can be a confusing and sometimes cold system of services, can be difficult and draining.
We have created a video series to help guide people through both community-based and legal options available and is for personal and professional use. This free event is the official launch of the video and website as well as a relaunch of the resource Out of the Shadows. Please join us to learn more about this project, watch the video and hear about recent training police have received to improve their response to sexual violence and harassment.
This event is for service providers in the health, social services, legal and helping professions, although everyone is welcome.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
The Peterborough Police Service is grateful to the following partners for their support and guidance, and for funding from the Government of Ontario.
