Celebrating tenacious women advocating full personhood, from Mary Ann Shadd Cary, a Black civil rights activist and publisher – to the Famous Five who won the 1929 “Person’s Case”– to Idola St. Jean and Thérèse Casgrain, who campaigned fiercely for women's right to vote in Quebec – to Mary Two-Axe Early, Jeannette Corbiere Lavell, Yvonne Bedard, Sandra Lovelace, and Sharon Donna McIvor, who have worked for decades to eliminate gender discrimination against Indigenous women - to our Member of Parliament Maryam Monsef, an Afghani Refugee, who gives hope to girl refugees.
