Ruth Schaeffer undertook a courageous and tireless fight for police accountability that was heard in the Supreme Court. Ruth also worked for many years with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Peterborough as a supportive counsellor, having a lasting impact in the lives of many of our clients. Ruth continues to educate on effective advocacy strategies in our community, and currently offers a two-day workshop.

Frances Adams was president of the Board of Directors at the Elizabeth Fry Society of Peterborough seeing the organization through some of it's most difficult transitions. She has been an active and passionate supporter of local politicians and the Social Planning Council of Peterborough.

Dawn McIlmoyle's courageous fight against sexual assault in the military brought this hidden epidemic to the public light. She was a leading voice for women driving change in the practices of the Military regarding gender equality. She is now an inspirational speaker to end abuse for women, children and Military personnel.
