Join us in celebration of this momentous occasion!
The Seasoned Spoon was conceived over 15 years ago from a grassroots act of resistance: a group of students serving by donation soup in the hallways of Trent University. Since that time, the Spoon has grown into a dynamic cooperative café and not-for-profit community organization providing hundreds of people with access to affordable local food every single day and abundant opportunities to dig deeper into the food system and learn about growing, cooking, preserving and advocating for sustainable, just and inclusive food.
We couldn’t have accomplished this achievement without our members, staff, volunteers, eaters, growers, community partners, good food advocates and everyone else who has been such an important a part of the Spoon community. We are extremely grateful for the support we have received and look forward to celebrating with our extended Spoon family.
Daytime festivities will feature some of our favourite workshops, art projects, root cellar tours, story sharing, spoon carving and by donation soup in the café. An evening celebration in the Great Hall will follow including a delicious feast filled with local foods, a panel discussion, music and more.
