TRACKS is the TRent Aboriginal Cultural Knowledge andScience Youth Program, run through Trent's Indigenous Environmental Studies/Sciences program and the Kawartha World Issues Centre. Our focus is on the weaving of Indigenous knowledge and science to encourage youth to explore different ways of knowing.
By considering the world from different perspectives, we aim to help young people develop a deeper, broader worldview that is based on relationship-building and using more than just your head!
TRACKS currently offers four 1.5 hour workshops:
- Mishiikenh (Turtle)
- Ode'min (Strawberry)
- Gchi-Nibi (Water)
- Mtigwaaki (Forest)* *must have access to some forested area
TRACKS instructors are fun, mature and knowledgeable and bring strong science and cultural backgrounds. Our activities are well suited to the outdoors- we encourage you to let us take your kids outside!
