Peterborough/Nogojiwanong Konbit Community Garden Launch

Date
Time
-- 10:30 am ~ 03:00 pm
Venue/Location
463 Highland Rd, Peterborough

Please join us for the launch, Konbit, of our first community garden. Konbit pronounced ‘cone-beet’ has origins in West Africa and is used in the Creole language. It is a virtue deeply embedded in many indigenous cultures that implies ‘coming together for the public commons or communal good.’

This is an opportunity to create this community garden in an atmosphere of music, food, and working collectively to connect with the land. This will be a family friendly event, with something for everyone, young to old, children crafts, the chance to take home pollinator plants and more. Peterborough musician Benj Rowland singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist will also be performing at this Konbit. He will be highlighting songs from his latest album, launched in March 2022, “Community Garden.” A collection of songs that speak to small town Ontario and tell stories about the life of an independent Canadian musician.

Please bring, gardening gloves, comfortable shoe and clothes possiblity for clothing to get soiled.

Come and enjoy creating a garden community !!!
